I want to host, but the library is unavailable for August 24th.Updated 3 months ago
If you tried to book a space, but your library does not have August 24th available here are some ideas to work around this obstacle:
-Check other libraries in the area.
-Ask the children’s department if you are able to use the space in the children’s area to read a story to local families. This event does not have to be extravagant, just 30-60 minutes reading Brave Books and/or other wholesome books.
-See if your library can squeeze you into a 30 minute window in between other events.
-Gather in the children’s section for just one story followed by an activity that encourages your attendees to make use of the library's wonderful resources (the library should love that!).
-The library is a public space and as long as you’re not disrupting others or violating policies, you are free to be there. Gather a small group somewhere in the library where you won’t disrupt others, outside in a courtyard, or outside in front of the library. Connect with your city and county to ensure you’re not violating any ordinances.
-If you suspect this date is unavailable due to the library intentionally blocking it to prevent SYATL from happening, please contact us with proof of their misconduct at [email protected]
